Riverside Presbyterian Church is bubbling with excitement as we dive
into a Super Cool Undersea Bible Adventure (SCUBA). On this
adventure, kids won't find any boring reminders of tedious
schoolwork. Our SCUBA program will provide fun, memorable
Bible-learning activities for kids of all ages. Each day kids will
sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, nibble tasty treats
from Dive-In Diner, experience electrifying Bible adventures, and create
bible point crafts they'll take home and play with all summer
long. SCUBA is an exciting way for kids to learn about Bible
people who went deeper in their faith. We'll be studying Elijah,
Jonah, and stories about Jesus and his followers. Plus, kids will
take part in a hand on mission project that will reach a local charity.
Last year our charity was the Niagara SPCA and Habitat for
Humanity. This years mission projects will be the Niagara Falls
Aquarium and we will collect pennies for Habitat for Humanity.
We'll conclude each day with a festive Sea Star Finale that gets
everyone involved in celebrating what they've learned. Family
members and friends are encouraged to join us daily for this special
time. We hope SCUBA will help our community dive deeper in God's
Love. Another important part of our VBS program is
volunteers. While the children are a very important part of this
program, volunteers are important to make this program work. There
are many different areas that a volunteer can help out. We are
looking for people to lead our SCUBA crews. Scuba crew leaders are
like older brothers and sisters in the scuba crew family. They
aren't responsible for teaching, and they don't have to prepare
anything. Scuba crew leaders can be teenagers, collage students,
parents, or grandparents. They need only to love the Lord and love
to be with children. They get to guide there group which consists
of 3-5 children to each workshop during the day. If you volunteer
to be a crew leader you have your choice of working with the elementary
age children, or working with our Pre-K Tide Pool station. We also
need volunteers to help with committees such as decorations, preparing
food, setting up or cleaning up, publicity, photographer, etc.
Everything we do at VBS is important. This is a week of so much
fun. It's like reliving our childhood all over again. Just
call Lisa Tripi with your questions. Also, now is the time to
pre-register your child for our SCUBA VBS. Our SCUBA VBS program
will begin Monday, August 18 and continues through Friday, August
22. Our "divers" will meet here at Riverside each day
from 9am until 12noon. The cost of our VBS program is only $5.00 a
child fro the week, or $15.00 for a family of 4 or more. This is
the help defer the cost of supplies during the week. The VBS is
for any child age 4 years old to 5th grade. So come on out, see
what its like (Please click here to view our
wish list of needed
supplies).
